Chapel and Crosses

Manx Electric Railway out + 6 mile walk back

At the northern end of Douglas promenade we ride on the Victorian MER tramcar for four miles (15 minutes) taking in spectacular coastline. After stepping down, we set out on foot to tiny St Adamnan’s chapel, with its graveyard and fine collection of celtic crosses set in a peaceful grove of trees. We continue down to Groudle beach, and on around the coast path around Howstrake back to Douglas. Time: 4 hours. MER only operates April to October.

Cost:  £50 + £5 per person tram fare
